Eco-Smart turns raw food waste into dry, clean residue overnight, reducing its volume and weight by 80%, eliminating bacteria and smells. In 12 to 18 hours, a nasty, smelly waste stream which requires continual disposal can be turned into a dry, manageable product which can be stored, sent periodically to a composting facility or can be put straight on to gardens and land. Food waste is 80% water which cannot be compacted. Eco-Smart reduces its volume and weight by drying it. The water is evaporated, condensed and filtered and is discharged as clean water.
